Howdy Cowboi is a piece that I truly adore. It reflects the beautiful contrast between our country life and the town life that also shapes Living around wide spaces, earthy textures and a strong rural energy, I’ve always been fascinated by how those traditionally masculine environments can hold softness, colour and femininity too.
In this work I explore that balance. The piece plays with the lines between masculinity and femininity through bold patterns, layered textures and vibrant colour and of course the touch of freshwater pearls. There’s a sense of ruggedness meeting playfulness, structure meeting softness. It’s a little nod to rural life while also bringing a feminine energy into spaces where it might not always be expected.
Like many of my works, colour takes centre stage here. It’s expressive, joyful and unapologetic, bringing warmth and personality to the piece while celebrating the idea that both strength and softness can exist side by side.
